Unequal Climate Policy in an Unequal World

With Elisa Belfiori and Daniel Carroll

We develop a heterogeneous-agent climate-macro model and show that constrained-efficient policy involves a progressive carbon tax. When the tax must be uniform, the optimal rate is lower than in a representative-agent framework.

Research across macroeconomics and international economics

I am an Associate Professor at Yonsei University. Previously, I was a principal research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota. I also hold degrees in Economics, Political Science and International Relations, and International Studies from Yonsei University.
